Updated Demographic Information on TEFA Participation

  • More than one in four awarded students has a documented disability.
  • Approximately four in five awarded students has a household income below 200% of the federal poverty level ($66,000 per year for a family of four).
  • Younger students are more likely to apply for the program than older students.

These numbers will continue to shift before school starts, as more students are taken off the waitlist. The Comptroller’s office will continue to publish updated demographic information on participating students.
